DO NOT use MetLife pet insurance
DO NOT use MetLife pet insurance. This is not a billing dispute — this is a company that took our money, confirmed their own mistake, and then made it structurally impossible to fix.
Here is exactly what happened:
1. We paid premiums for an extended period — over $1,500 total.
2. When we filed claims, MetLife said they were approved and paid. We received nothing. When we called to ask why, a MetLife customer service agent confirmed that a one-digit zip code error IN THEIR SYSTEM had been sending every reimbursement check to the wrong address the entire time.
3. We tried to correct the address ourselves through their app — the app would not allow it.
4. We escalated to a manager. The manager told us the only way to fix the zip code was to cancel our policy and re-enroll. But re-enrolling after a cancellation would raise our rates — AND void all previously approved claims. In other words: their fix would erase the very reimbursements we were owed.
5. We attempted to cancel anyway.
