Healthy Paws has always kept their promise!

Healthy Paws has covered everything they said they would for our pup who has had a long road for the last several years. Most recently, he had a life-saving emergency surgery that was covered within 5 days of me submitting the claim which was thousands of dollars. We are incredibly grateful to have had their insurance coverage for both of our dogs for years now.

Beware of continuous rate increases.

Up until 2 years ago, I raved about this company. They were responsive and quick to pay all claims. Last year my policy went up almost 40% and this year, the same thing. In the past two years my policy has increased over 80% without one claim. While they say that your rates do not go up because of claims on your pet, they just go up based on the claims history for all the other pets they insure. Just like everything else, I'm paying for all the other pet's out there.

Unresponsive

Generally seemed fine until I asked them to look over a quote and let me know what would and wouldn’t be covered. They refused. I emailed them 4 more times and got….nothing.

Knee surgery made easy

Our German Shepherd tore his CCL and needed surgery. Healthy Paws made it easy so we could focus on helping him recover. Just snap pictures of the doctor’s receipts and they do the rest. It’s nice to know they are there to cover you in times of need.

Monthly Cost

$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
