Compassionate, comprehensive, complete and rapid response
Our experience with Healthy Paws confirmed we chose the right insurance company. I studied many of them before making a decision. We had a whopper claim thanks to our one year old cat needing extensive surgery from eating two Nerf darts. Seriously. Very dangerous, life-threatening blockages. But all is well and I'm so relieved we signed up with Healthy Paws.

Seamless, compassionate, timely
I am so thankful we enrolled in Healthy Paws. Our one year old kitten somehow found and ate two small Nerf darts and although the foam part came up/out, the plastic tips didn't pass like we'd hoped. She had two blockages and we were at our regular vet, the emergency clinic and the surgical emergency. All the imaging, the surgery, the meds ... and more. It was a lot. I had peace of mind before all this happened, after diligently researching and asking around about insurance policies. Healthy Paws was the best choice. And-- two days after the claim, the money was deposited straight to my bank account. Whew, so glad it turned out well-- and our kitty after a convalescence is back to being bouncy and happy.

Peace of Mind
My 6 y/o Zoe, lab x, was diagnosed about 10 Mon ago with diabetes requiring insulin 2x daily and is now developing cataracts due to the diabetes. Luckily, I started Healthy Paws over 2 years ago just as a precaution since I lost my last dog suddenly to cancer and didn’t have insurance (I had it then dropped it because the premium kept getting higher and higher and I never submitted a claim in 10 years!) I did some research and Healthy Paws stood out among it’s competitors. Submitting claims is easy and the response to them is almost immediate. Calling and actually speaking to a human being is also a priority of mine when I have a question. My premium has gone up this year just hoping that it doesn’t keep in creasing. But, without it I wouldn’t be able to afford Zoe’s treatment. Zoe is scheduled for cataract surgery to regain her vision and had I not had the insurance I would have had to let her go blind because of the cost. Thank you Healthy Paws for being there when we needed it. I have recommended your company to many of my friends with pets. Zoe is doing great and I have peace of mind knowing her care can continue! Peace of mind
When it comes to pet insurance, people often focus on the cost and not the benefit. I picked Healthy Paws for their incredible reputation. Years later I was not let down when an emergency led to thousands of dollars in veterinary bills. Filing a claim was easy and Healthy Paws reimbursed me quickly. Such a relief! I highly recommend them.
Monthly Cost
$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.
Coverage
One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more.
You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Payout Limits
No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.
Deductible
You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750*
*Choice depends on age of the pet
Age Limits
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment.
Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
