the best insurance ever!!!!

I had been a customer of another insurance company for years. All of the sudden, they became nitpicky, difficult to work with, and customer service did a real nosedive. They would not answer emails, forcing me to call, then the wait times were horrendous. To submit a claim, you had to have the vet fill out a form, then scan the form and invoice in, and upload it to a portal. Ugh. I decided to switch, and I am very happy with Figo, the new company I went with. Customer service on the phone and in emails has been stellar. They have a GREAT app for uploading claims, and a very fun social element. Figo only requires doctor’s notes, which my vet can email to me. No filling out forms! Figo also gives you collapsible water dishes with a caribiner for each pet and a collar tag with a unique number that can be used to locate your pet, should they become lost. Figo covers things unusual, such as boarding fees if the owner has an emergency and has to be in the hospital. Go look, and see all of it! My puppy got a very serious illness at eight weeks old. It was pre-existing in my last policy. As I expected, it would also be pre-existing with Figo. The biggest difference is that my last company refused to cover ANY signs of the illness (such as coughing, no matter the reason). Figo is different! My dog’s illness was deemed “curable,” and I could apply for an exception after she was illness-free for 12 months. Um, wow. They do not guarantee your appeal will be granted of course, but with the last policy having NEVER as their rule, this is great! I am so happy that I chose Figo, and I think you will be too. Their premiums are competitive, as well. Check ‘em out!

First there is the question of should I get Pet insurance or shouldn’t I? People will tell you their experiences... some people will say get it definitely, while some people will say, no you don’t need it. Well we decided to go with getting Insurace for our brand new puppy and thank God we went with FIGO. I am a researcher and review reader for everything I do and purchase. Figo seemed to have the most advantages and seemed user friendly. The costs were all relatively in the same ball park. We have had FIGO insurance for eight months and unfortunately we have had to use the insurance four times. If your dog has floppy ears they are prone to ear infection which could be costly... that was the first time we had to use it. The second time my poor little puppy was throwing up for two days and I don’t know what was wrong so I took her to the doctor and that was about $890. My deductible is $200 which was partially met with the ear infection. So once I met that deductible I got back 80% of the rest. If you have a puppy they are very curious and they will eat anything and things happen so you will need insurance. Within 5-10 minutes of not having my puppy on my lap I thought she was with my daughter instead she had opened a bottle of melatonin with xylitol which is toxic to dogs . Thank God we caught her. And rushed her to the vet right away so that they could induce vomiting . She still had to be a kept in the hospital for four days to monitor her blood sugar. The bill was $3000. I submitted the receipt by taking a picture..super easy, answered a few questions. My claim was approved the next day and the following day the money ($2400)was in my checking account. Two days ago I took her back to get her liver rechecked that was $106 I submitted it that night and $84.80 was in my checking account today. Every time I have submitted a claim it has been super easy and super fast I would highly recommend FiGO insurance!! Also a nice little bonus is that you get a cloud with an email address and folders online so that you can keep all of your pets records together which is really nice. I don’t usually write such long reviews but I am so glad that we made this investment. I just hope my premium does not go up after the first year because we had so many claims!

While I only had Figo for a short period of time, they were wonderful to work with. My sweet Sully man passed away in a tragic accident only a month or two after we had the insurance and they made it easy and hassle free to get our money back and worked with our vet office to get any documents they needed so we didn't have to worry about that. Will be using them with our next amazing pup :)

FIGO has great coverage and customer service and quick claim reimbursement. I love being able to submit claims on line ! HOWEVER, I got coverage for my then 6-year-old German Shepherd last year (2018). At my recent first renewal, my monthly payment went from $63.21/mo to an ASTOUNDING INCREASE TO $175.86/mo for the same coverage. FIGO has only been in business since April 2015 and evidently did not know how to set rates for it's excellent coverage. I suspect the underwriters woke up and realized they were not making enough money, so made a whopping increase in rates. Thankfully, my dog is healthy and did not develop any new health conditions, so I am able to look for new insurance with another company without having to worry about pre-existing conditions. But if my dog had developed new health issues in the last 12 months, it would be VERY difficult for me to get decent coverage. JUST BE CAREFUL ABOUT RATE INCREASES ! ! !
