I wish human health insurance were this good.

I have never had a problem filing a claim or getting reimbursed. Once my deductible is met, if it is a qualified expense (which includes everything for this pet as she was insured the day I brought her home), everything is reimbursed--no quibbling over "reasonable and customary" or payment reductions because the standard rate for that service is less than the claim, blah blah blah...nothing at all like that with this company. This is absolutely the best decision I ever made for my girl.

Ease of submitting a claim

I was very pleased with the ease of submitting a claim for my dog's recent veterinarian visit. I had only to photograph my bill, and send it in. I talked to a very friendly and helpful Figo employee who told me exactly what I needed to do. She was very interested in my dog's health problem, and the treatment prescribed by the veterinarian. i'm happy that it is so simple and easy to submit claims to Figo.

Great customer service!

I haven't had to use this insurance yet, but I have worked with their customer service regarding premium changes, changing plans, changing underwriters, etc. and they were wonderful. They helped me through the whole process, kept me informed, and made sure that our coverage didn't lapse between all the changes. 5 stars for great customer service.

Monthly Cost

$9 to $135 on average depending on chosen plan.

Coverage

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80%, 90% or 100% after your deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

$100, $250, $500, $750, $1,000 or $1,500 annually. Deductibles offered depend on pet’s age and location.

Age Limits

Must be 8 weeks or older to enroll. No upper age limits apply.

Waiting Period

1-day for accidents, 14 days for illnesses, 6 months for hip dysplasia and orthopedic conditions. (Both hip dysplasia and orthopedic condition waiting periods can be waived by having exam/waiver form completed by veterinarian)

Exclusions

Curable pre-existing conditions may be eligible for coverage if symptom free for 12 months Conditions arising from a repetitive and specific activity, eg. Ingestion foreign object, ear infection caused by water, snake bites, etc. – excluded after 3 occurrences We now have a wellness option We have a diminishing deductible Copay & deductible waived for emergency life-saving treatment (in the case of an accident, not illness)
