I highly recommend Figo pet insurance.

I highly recommend Figo pet insurance. Our black lab unfortunately tore both ACL's in her back legs. We filed a claim shortly after her surgery, and at first the claim was denied due to inaccurate information provided by the veterinarian office who diagnosed her and performed the procedure . After a follow-up discussion with the veterinarian, an appeal of the original claim denial was filed, and Figo approved the claim and honored the policy. While the claim process was a bit lengthy, and at times challenging, in the end Figo did the right thing and approved our claim.

Fortunately I haven’t had to file any claims, so I can’t say anything on that, but I have two fur babies at what I feel is a good premium for both.

Monthly Cost

$9 to $135 on average depending on chosen plan.

Coverage

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80%, 90% or 100% after your deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

$100, $250, $500, $750, $1,000 or $1,500 annually. Deductibles offered depend on pet’s age and location.

Age Limits

Must be 8 weeks or older to enroll. No upper age limits apply.

Waiting Period

1-day for accidents, 14 days for illnesses, 6 months for hip dysplasia and orthopedic conditions. (Both hip dysplasia and orthopedic condition waiting periods can be waived by having exam/waiver form completed by veterinarian)

Exclusions

Curable pre-existing conditions may be eligible for coverage if symptom free for 12 months Conditions arising from a repetitive and specific activity, eg. Ingestion foreign object, ear infection caused by water, snake bites, etc. – excluded after 3 occurrences We now have a wellness option We have a diminishing deductible Copay & deductible waived for emergency life-saving treatment (in the case of an accident, not illness)
