Be better
When speaking to investors, I'm sure the pitch of 'we're an AI-driven pet insurance service' helped you raise a bunch of money on the basis that you're able to handle as many claims as your servers can support.
However, the experience feels cold and coupled with the long processing times, it feels like you're just hoping pet parents will become frustrated with your policy and give up and just eat the costs on anything that isn't a rare major procedure.
On its best day, Fetch feels like a slog to get reimbursed for costs that are all getting declined for a combination of poor reasoning (Condition was present before policy + condition is present now -> decline b/c it's a pre-existing condition and not re-infection) or just b/c there's legalese that the company is leaning on to restrict payments. It's insane that you have standard language that restricts reimbursement for curable conditions that existed prior to the evaluation period that then resets the timer for that period if it re-emerges. It's just a way to avoid reimbursing for anything 'common'.
Not milking patients for cash on the basis of love for their pets will build more loyal customers in the long-term. Do better.
