Fetch Pet Insurance Company

Talked to Fetch rep Samantha Jenkins today to ask about the large increase in my premiums from the year before. She did a really good job in explaining the reasons for the large increase. 1- My pet was now in a higher rate category due to her age. 2-Because I had made several claims over the past year I had lost some of the discounts that I had previously received due to being claims free. 3-There was also a rate increase due to a lot of claims being made with the type of breed of dog I have. I was so pleased that she took the time to answer the questions I had and also did not make me feel rushed so she could answer another call. HERE IS ANOTHER REASON I AM PLEASED WITH FETCH AS MY PET INSURANCE COMPANY. About 2 years ago I realized that I had incorrectly reported my dog as being a purebred when she was actually a mixed breed. Note! There is a large difference in premiums then. At least that was in my case. So what Fetch did for me is that they refunded me the difference for that year and also for the prior years overpayment. This was so unexpected but appreciated especially since it was an error on my part. The refunds of the premiums were about $500 for each of the 2 years. I would also say that any claims I've had have been hassle free. It's all about reading and understanding you contract. Will definitely continue using Fetch as my pet insurance company

Do not use this company!!!

Do not use this company!!!! i have not made a claim since 2020 and my insurance went up $400 a year and their excuse is Dog insurance has gone up in Ontario. That is ridiculous. Every year it’s gone up a normal amount of about $80 a year. It even went down one year But this year it went up $400 and I have not made a claim in 4 years. Horrible, and they know you cant go anywhere because my dog is already 5 years old and to get into another insurance company at this time is impossible. So they know you are stuck and can charge anything they want. Very dishonest company. I will cancel and put the money away myself. There should be laws and limits as to how high they can charge every year DO NOT USE THIS DISHONEST COMPANY!!!!!! Oh and Fetch no need to respond.I have seen your responses with the other people with the same complaint and your responses are lame and meaningless.So please no need to respond

15 day wait period- still waiting 1 month later

15 day wait period that has turned into a full month and still counting for reimbursement. The invoices submitted are not broke down enough so they needed to get broke down more and unfortunately for vet staff such as myself if you get any sort of discount that is an issue as well. Best for vet staff to use a different company that supports staff

Worst Experience ever - Pathetic totally

I had to take my dog to the vet on Jan 10th for which I submitted a claim on Jan 11th 2024 On Jan 25th 2024 I get a notification on the app that the documents are missing and I need to upload the invoice and receipt and previous vaccinations hence I do that On Feb 5th I get notified that I need the documents to be uploaded and they are same set of documents which I uploaded it’s really frustrating when you cannot talk to anyone and all they want to say is “Here is the link to upload the documents” I think before asking us to verify that “I am not a Robot” they should verify themselves that their customers are “Not Dealing with a Robot” NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL !!! WILL NEVER EVER RECOMMEND ANYONE WITH FETCH PET INSURANCE

Age Limits

Fetch doesn’t enforce upper age limits, so you can enroll your pet any time after it turns six weeks old. Some providers limit coverage for older pets to accident-only. Fetch doesn’t limit coverage by age so that you can get the right care for your buddy, no matter what.

Waiting Period

Fetch’s waiting periods are up to 15 days for accidents and illnesses and six months for orthopedic events.

Exclusions

Fetch won’t cover pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures, boarding costs, breeding costs, wellness care items, or accidents and illnesses that occur during waiting periods.
