I can't recommend them
I had 2 previous insurance companies covering my 2 girls because of the cost. I checked out Embrace and it was less expensive for both girls than the other two were separately. Plus, it covered more (or so it seemed). In the beginning, everything went well. I was paid for a couple of claims and they were fair.
Then, because I thought I had purchased regular health checks and routine vaccines, I submitted a request for a routine shot. It was denied because I didn't have some damn additional service called Wellness Rewards. When I joined, this was never even shown on the details page, although it is now. Anyway, after paying for it for both girls, they paid the claim. They never did tell me what happened to the part of the policy that covered routine stuff...and this addition was expensive.
Very quickly, one of my girls' very limited wellness amount was used up (payed a lot, didn't get much back).
Then the topper. We had an almost $1000 dental bill. This was for a routine cleaning, They paid about 1/4 of it because, get this, tartar is a pre-existing condition. Well DUH...EVERYONE gets tartar because they eat food! HOW can that be pre-existing? Then she had something on her gum. Now, she's 10. Whatever it was, I don't remember, but she had something like it a couple of years before...another pre-existing condition! Good thing they didn't have to pay for her cancer treatments because they would have found that pre-existing when she got it a second time, even had they treated it the first, which they did not. Just saying.
If I'm going to have to pay for routine wellness and have it declared pre-existing, to pay for dental care and have idiotic things every living being with teeth gets become a pre-existing condition, who needs it?
I figured it was just better to pay as I go because I would have to anyway and save the almost $500 a month I was paying for their insurance. It would, generally speaking, be cheaper in the long run.
Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed with this insurance. I will just continue to pay for vet visits as I have been for the entire time I have had dogs. I'm too old to put up with the aggravation and BS insurance companies love to give folks who pay every month and when they make a claim, get bupkus in return.
BTW, the date on this review is the day I purchased insurance with Embrace. I left the end of September.
