The most money I have ever wasted. Ever.
We insured our dog with Embrace her whole life. The monthly premium started at around $60 dollars and steadily increased over the years. Last year, we paid them nearly $5000 in premiums with barely any claims. On her 12th birthday, they emailed me, telling us we'd now have to pay $733 a month - $8,796 a year for a 10k yearly max. When I complained that there was no point, and that now I would never get close to getting back the thousands and thousands I'd put into the policy over the years, they gave me some different options, but only one set that would still "cover" my dog's recent injury. I use "cover" loosely, since they're still denying the physical therapy claims. I cannot believe that now, as my dog ages and really needs the support, we won't have any help for her or her ailments, after we worked so hard to keep her happy and healthy for so long. It seems like the people who work at this company care, but their model is so broken. Maybe the whole pet care and pet insurance industry is broken. I don't know. But save the money yourself. Set it aside while your pets are young and healthy, so you can support them yourself as they age. Trust me, overall, it will save you thousands.
