Embrace | Pet Insurance Review

My 1.5 year old Leonberger, Zoe, had a slight, but persistent limp for a number of months. I had her examined by both my regular vet, and a holistic vet, and they could not find anything wrong. Both vets recommended seeing an orthopedic specialist, who did a thorough exam and Xrays. He determined the problem was in her shoulder (fortunately not OCD - Osteochondritis disicans, but most likely a small tear in her shoulder capsule). He recommended a month of laser and physical therapy (underwater treadmill), 2x a week (along with reduced play time with other dogs). This helped solve the problem...limp seems to be gone. Embrace covered all the above treatments! 2012 is my second year with Embrace. My experience with Embrace in 2011 was so good (coverage, customer service, claims, reimbursements) that I enthusiastically renewed for 2012. This year I decided to also sign up for the wellness rewards, as it is a great deal financially, and incentive to keep up on wellness practices for my dog. Great job Embrace! I highly recommend Embrace.

I'm combining a few claim submissions into one review. Overall, I am very pleased with Embrace. My dog had post operative complications from her spay and was very critical when I brought her to the ER. She had to spend the weekend at the ER and we now dub her surgery as the most expensive spay in history. She has also had a couple minor issues with a tweaked back and a skin infection. All claims were addressed promptly with an acknowledgement e mail as well as inquiry to how our little princess is doing makes me feel like more than just a number.

Lucky for us we have Embrace, because our 4 year old mutt seems to come down with some bizarre ailments. Not once have they denied a claim. A VERY smart investment for any dog owner.

I went with Embrace due to the good reviews. I think this company has changed. My claim has been in process for several weeks and they are still asking for more information. While their reps are pleasant and polite, it doesn't mask the fact that it seems they are trying to get out of paying my claim. I have paid monthly ever since I adopted my kitty two years ago. He ate something he shouldn't have and the vet says he may have IBD. It seems that Embrace is trying to see if this is a pre existing condition to get out of reimbursing me for the procedure to remove the object. I'm searching around for a different insurance company as we speak. Feel like I wasted money with this company completely.

I continue to be impressed with how personable the reps are, especially considering most of my communication is over email, which is such an impersonal form of communication. All the forms and processes have been easy to understand and we quickly started to save money on our dog's health care. We hear from many people that Embrace has a great reputation too, which reaffirms our decision. I'm so glad we made the choice to get insurance and go with Embrace.
