Do not waste your time or money! Terrible

Do not waste your time or money with this pet insurance. Sadly it was referred to us by USAA, which we usually trust. We had a simple tooth extraction for our dog. They requested documents from the adoption agency as well as the vet and no matter what was provided, it wasn't enough or the right documentation. We had to constantly follow up with them and they managed to stall the process for over six weeks. They paid $200.00 of a $700.00 claim stating we did not have the "rewards" extra coverage. Although it clearly states that tooth extraction is a basic covered expense. We immediately canceled. Terrible, frustrating experience. Do not buy.

Coverage you can trust

I had no idea my dog would have so many issues as he got older. I actually benefited from this insurance because I went without claims for a few years and had a zero deductible when it came time to really use it. My cane corso, now a senior citizen, is going through the wringer as he ages. He suffers from chronic allergies, arthritis, and the sporadic ear infections. I can’t express enough how satisfied I am with his broad coverage, timeliness of getting my 90% back and ease of submitting a claim. It’s drastically improved over the years. I have recommended this insurance to friends and they love it ! So happy I committed to embrace. I would not have been able to afford him otherwise. Thanks Embrace !

UNHAPPY customer

I have been extremely frustrated with my Embrace experience. I sent them my pets medical histories in December 2022 and they confirmed via email they had been received; however, upon subjecting claims for both of my dogs between February and April, they put my claims on hold after 30+ days due to not having pre policy medical records. When I inquired about the discrepancy between the confirmation email I received in December versus the new communication, all I got was the run around. I was charged interest on my credit card twice because of the delay in process. They also provided a fax and email address for claims documents to be sent and upon faxing, they stated nothing had been received. At the end of these policy periods, I will definitely NOT be renewing with Embrace. It has been such a headache and so frustrating!

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
