ASPCA | Pet Insurance Review

I never received a confirmation email once I completed the online process. I wasn't sure if my request was received or what day the coverage would start. Edit: Thanks for reply

Signed my puppy up for pet insurance. There is a 14-day waiting period (some other pet insurance plans do not have it). Got a call from ASPCA Insurance to verify some things and told the customer service rep that our puppy was staying elsewhere for a couple of days, but he is ours and paid for. She said that the 14-day waiting period could only start from the day the puppy was brought to our house. I asked her where this is stated in the contract, she could not point me to that clause. She then offered to extend the 14 day waiting period to 14 days from the time the puppy comes to our house. To make a long story short, I canceled the contract and signed our puppy up with a different insurance company (which does not have a waiting period at all) - if this is how it starts, not sure how many more “exceptions” there would be.

I just started using ASPCA Insurance for Gypsy and I think it is going to work out perfectly for her. Everyone has been so helpful to me.

I am a new customer so I’m withholding my final opinion but so far the process for signing up for insurance, and getting the appropriate information about the policy and the rating quote were all easy and seamless. I loved the personal phone follow up after I had signed up as well

Overall, ASPCA has excellent pet health insurance. We have been insured by them for over 6 years now. I am slightly disappointed that there was a very low rate of reimbursement for my dog's spaying. Also, there's some inconsistency and errors with claim processing. When I call to follow up with their wonderful customer service department, I am told that the claim will be reviewed, but I'm uncertain if the claim is actually looked at again. I highly recommend ASPCA's pet health insurance to all pet owners!
