Everything was great EXCEPT the frustration of not having a contact for neither myself nor my vet on emergency stand by. I had to wait until 9am the next morning to contact someone so that surgery could be done. And the first person I contacted gave me the wrong information, so my emergency hospital vet had to call to proceed.
This caused a lot of stress. I can't even imagine anyone trying to get through a whole weekend of this situation. Please consider having a properly trained horse person for these situations on a 24 hour standby. It would have saved a lot of time, energy and maybe even a horse. It all turned out ok, but please consider my request for future needs of all horses and other animals! Thank You!
