I do NOT recommend ASPCA Pet Insurance…

I do NOT recommend ASPCA Pet Insurance and encourage you to exercise caution. Their claim that "an illness is no longer pre-existing after 6 months" has numerous loopholes for denying coverage. My dog was 5-6 years of age at adoption, his immune system was compromised and included ear, skin, and stomach issues. The first vet diagnosed "allergies" as the root cause of his ear and skin. This was without medical history. They proscribed months of allergy treatments (Apoquel; Cadi shots) and dehydrated dog food yet with recurring infections. I stopped all medications and put him on fish oil pills, probiotics, and a minimal ingredient dog food. He had no ear, skin, or stomach issues for 10 months. Following a day at the beach, his ears/skin were irritated resulting in an ear infection. APSCA denied benefits stating "allergies were noted 31 days prior to this policy coverage, although he went 10 months, allergies are OFTEN the root cause to an ear infection, are considered pre-existing" and will never be covered. There is no medical proof supporting ALL ear and skin infections are from allergies yet I was asked to prove they're not. This was another loophole for ASPCA to deny benefits. I immediately canceled my policy, I find them to be dishonest and strongly suggest you look at options such as Healthy Paws.

This is the first time I have ever had…

This is the first time I have ever had pet insurance for my pets. Four years ago when I got my first little Yorkie I decided I would try it. ASPCA has been so great with helping me take care of the medical needs for both my Yorkies. I don't worry about the high costs of care because I know I ASPCA has my back . Too, I can make sure they always have preventive care because most is covered. I have been very pleased so far. Thank you. Gail Hansen
