ASPCA | Pet Insurance Review

I pay $35 /month for peace of mind. That doesn't cover well visits or shots, but it covers everything else. My 2 yr old standard poodle developed thrombocytopenia right before Christmas, requiring an emergency vet visit on Christmas Eve and multiple tests to figure out why she was so lethargic and bleeding out of every orifice. We had already met our $500 deductible, so we were reimbursed 90% of the $3000+ cost. Submitting the claims is super easy and the reimbursement is direct deposited into our checking account in about a week. None of our claims have been challenged, questioned or denied. In a world in which dealing with big companies, insurance, etc typically means waiting on hold, being scammed and not getting what you paid for, it's been refreshing to have such a straightforward and easy experience with an insurance company! If only human insurance could be the same.

I would like to point out who I spoke to over the volume was pleasant, sweet, and showed that this was not just her job, but her personality. The agent helped me register for the account online and it was a breeze, she was swift and to the point.

Our two year old dog had to have emergency surgery after ingesting a foreign object. This was a very scary time for us, and thinking about the finances around this only added more stress. Immediately after the surgery we submitted our claim to aspca and they were so quick to process our claim and reimburse us the majority of the cost of the surgery. I cant say enough about how much this meant to our family to know that we could provide life saving surgery to our dog without the worry of being able to afford it.
