Useless Pet Insurance

Signed up after hesitation about pet insurance due to everything being considered a pre-existing condition. Didn’t receive anything in the mail until a month later as inaccurately described by sales. The coverage I signed for says it starts mid month the previous month which is completely inaccurate. I also recently submitted my first four claims. Naturally they accepted my own money towards the deductible but when it comes to ASPCA insurance covering anything my intuition was correct in that everything is going to be considered a pre-existing condition. For example, my pet received an antibiotic injection and they stated this was injection was not reimbursable because it was for a pre-existing condition. When I questioned why the injection portion of the claim was not reimbursable they stated it was due to a pre-existing condition. They stated it was due to my pet having tartar which could lead to gingivitis even though gingivitis wasn’t listed in my pet’s record. An antibiotic injection is not given for tartar! Pet insurance in general is a total waste of money, you’re paying money every month to have useless insurance and for ASPCA insurance to deny this claim is ridiculous, especially since there was nothing in the medical record leading to a pre-existing condition. Love how the employees try to put a positive spin on the insurance though. ASPCA insurance and any other pet insurance will always try to find loop holes and grey areas to keep your money. Not a good investment in my opinion.

they didn't even cover my dog's medical visit. This company is disaster. And it takes more than a month to give you an answer about the refund. One of the worst decisions I've ever made.

Upon signing up with the company, I received a warm welcome call explaining the insurance policy we chose for our dog and made sure to reach out if we had any questions or concerns.
