Great coverage and quick payout!

My chihuahua is a very unlucky guy and had 2 completely unrelated life threatening incidents in the span of 6 months. First, he had a bowel distorsion that resulted in him having to undergo an anastamosis. Then, 6 months later, he had a stroke. His vet bills totaled to over 15K, and I ended up having to pay only 5K of that. ASPCA paid out both times in under 2 weeks. The only issue I would say is that they don't pay the full vet bill, but rather pay 'reasonable coverage' based on costs within a certain area. Their monthly rates, deductible, and coverage percentage are so much lower than other companies, that it still works out to be cheaper, however.

Insurers to trusted

I have not been disappointed when I submit a claim. Wish they covered yearly exams, but I guess it is too expensive. Every one I have spoken to on the phone has been professional and very pleasant. I also love the follo up call to see how Willow is doing. I think that is a nice service.

Great Help in the hard times for our fur babies

In the hardest times when our fur babies need medical treatment, expensive treatment. It took many specialist to help our baby and ASPCA insurance paid each and every claim. They also called to follow up on how he was feeling. We are very thankful.

Great Peace of Mind

When our dog managed to get into a purse and eat a pack of gum at 9 PM one evening, we immediately took a trip to the emergency vet. While I was concerned for him and his wellbeing, I never once was worried over the cost of taking care of him. The claim process was easy and I was reimbursed quickly.

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). Rates vary based on species, age, breed, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee. Accident-Only coverage available.
