Our budget would have gone to the dogs
We vacillated before purchasing pet insurance for our cocker spaniel and our cat. The cat has enjoyed good health despite a heart murmur. However, the cocker has had a number of mishaps (injuries to both rear legs, and Cushing's disease) that have cost us over $10,000 at the vets' offices. Thank heaven we made the decision to purchase ASPCA coverage for both pets, as most of our outlays have been reimbursed. The online claims processes were a breeze and reimbursements were fair and faithful to the contract language. The only reason we didn't give the insurer a "10" was that a few of the items charged were deemed somewhat higher than usually charged in the community. So much for the cost of loving in the District of Columbia. We enthusiastically recommend ASPCA.
