While I don't mind calling, it would...

While I don't mind calling, it would be easier for policyholders to be able to update payment information and billing addresses on the website. If it's available, I sure haven't seen it.

I put a claim in back in November...

I put a claim in back in November and still have not received the reimbursement check. Even though I have been receiving other correspondences and a check from a claim I put in this month from your company. I guess I don't understand why I have to wait

The website does not offer a way to...

The website does not offer a way to add Defender/Defender Plus to Companion Plus. Let Washington state residents know that we are treated differently with regards to Defender/Plus policies. It was frustrating enough that I was about to find another provider

Customer service is awesome

Customer service is awesome. The agent got everything adjusted promptly in eliminating from the policy a dog I placed and don't have any more. She also managed to be sincerely sympathetic that I had $4000 vet bills not covered by my plan.

Very thorough and did not rush

The young lady was very pleasant and professional on the phone. I was advised that she would send me some forms I needed and explained the process. She was very thorough and did not rush to get off the phone like most over-the-phone employees do. Cudos

Monthly Cost

$5 – $90 depending on coverage options chosen.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 20% after your annual deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Per incident limit of $1,500 – $8,000 and annual limits of $3,000 – $16,000 depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

Choose from $100 – $1,000 annual deductible.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll with no upper age limit. Coverage options available for senior pets.

Waiting Period

Coverage goes into effect one day after enrollment. There is a 5-day wait period for accident claims and 14-day wait period for illness claims. AKC Pet Insurance provides 30 days of accident and illness insurance coverage included with AKC registration for newly registered puppies.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Customizable plans allow you to add-on coverage for inherited and congenital conditions, exam fees and wellness care. Cancer coverage included in base accident and illness plan.
