Emergencies happen without warning

Emergencies happen without warning. Having insurance for my bloodhound was the absolute best thing I’ve done for him. The claims process was easy and one less thing I had to stress about at the time.

Essential coverage

Pets today are a major part of the family. Proper health care is expensive, so I find this coverage essential. I opted for the additional fee to cover office visits (doesn’t cover wellness visits, shots etc) which I’m glad I did. It covers the $55 (what my vet charges) office visit fee when bringing my dog in for care.

AKC pet insurance is easy to understand and a great value.

AKC pet insurance is easy to understand, is what i expected from a insurance plan, i compared all the name brands of pet insurance, and felt AKC provided the best value for the money, the best upgrade options and helps with the expensive cost of pet care today. I would recommend AKC hands down. Customer service is very polite and professional and helpful if one has questions regarding their policy. Filing a claim is very simple Glad I insured my pet with AKC.

Monthly Cost

$5 – $90 depending on coverage options chosen.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 20% after your annual deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Per incident limit of $1,500 – $8,000 and annual limits of $3,000 – $16,000 depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

Choose from $100 – $1,000 annual deductible.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll with no upper age limit. Coverage options available for senior pets.

Waiting Period

Coverage goes into effect one day after enrollment. There is a 5-day wait period for accident claims and 14-day wait period for illness claims. AKC Pet Insurance provides 30 days of accident and illness insurance coverage included with AKC registration for newly registered puppies.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Customizable plans allow you to add-on coverage for inherited and congenital conditions, exam fees and wellness care. Cancer coverage included in base accident and illness plan.
