How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Mountain View Veterinary Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

My previous dog was a patient at Mountain View Veterinary Hospital for nearly 17 years. To say he was a difficult dog would be an understatement. The doctors, techs, and assistants were all very loving with him despite his behavior, and were very understanding. They never made me feel bad about how difficult he was. He always received exceptional care and I am certain that played a role in him living for 17 years. My current dog has been a patient for almost 10 years. He's had so many issues, that I believe he's seen every veterinarian that has worked there in the last 10 years. Oops! In each case, I have had a good experience. He's had 2 main veterinarians over the years. Dr Fairbanks and Dr Petite are the best! Dr Fairbanks has helped him to be able to continue his daily walks to this day, after being diagnosed with arthritis, hip dysplasia, and neurological issues several years ago. Last year, Dr Petite's thoroughness led to her discovering a blood clot in his spleen. I believe this saved his life. All of the staff (front desk, assistants, techs, and doctors) are kind, caring, and knowledgeable. I really feel like they all care about my dog. I would not go anywhere else!

I love Mountain View Vet and especially Dr. Battilega. She listens carefully, has an outstanding “bedside” manner with furry skeptics, and she has been completely on top of treating my old girl’s declining health with meds, acupuncture, cautionary tests, med adjustments, etc to find the right balance that keeps her health condition well-controlled without damaging her liver or leaving her groggy all day. Absolutely love this vet and would give her my highest recommendation. She’s just as friendly and thoughtful with the parents as she is with the furry kids. No long waits at Mountain View and never a crowded waiting room stuffed with nervous pets who further stress each other out. It has always been an easy, relaxed visit for me and my furry girls, who are happy to walk in the door every time we arrive.
