How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Banfield Pet Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.
Facility Tour

This review is for anyone who is worried about their pet: I brought my pup here yesterday because I was worried he might be constipated. They quoted me over $800 UP FRONT in order to run a bunch of expensive tests and do xrays. I left and went down the street to Three Creeks Vet Clinic instead. The vet literally put her finger up my dog's a*** and told me he wasn't even constipated. A simple rectal exam. I almost paid Banfield $800 to find out my dog wasn't even constipated because they offered me the most extreme/invasive/expensive options immediately!! They didn't even LOOK at my dog without throwing that number out there. They told me this price within 3 minutes of walking through the door! This place is a money grab. They are predatory and they create a false sense of urgency to get more money out of you. RUN (don't walk) to another vet clinic. I highly recommend THREE CREEKS instead! Thanks for reading!

Hands down the best Banfield I have taken my beloved pups to. They now know my 2 Labradoodles, and my pups actually love going there! I feel they have my dogs' health in focus, and I will continue to bring them to that location!

Impossible to get ahold of, they no not return calls. You can only schedule appointments (literally) months out, better not have any emergencies! No communication about pet health or responses to questions. I've been a Banfield customer for 10 years and they've really dropped off as far as quality of care and communication.

I have taken my pets to Banfield hospitals since 2006. I was living in PDX, so we went to the 185th location in Hillsboro and the location on Barbar Rd. I recently moved to WA and started going here. I am completely unimpressed! The receptionists I’ve dealt with are rude and it is impossible to call and get ahold of anyone at anytime. I have worked in healthcare for >20y with half of that time being in the ED. I completely understand long waits, that sicker patients need to go first, and that sometimes staff are too busy to answer the phones. I also understand when this is due to extenuating circumstances and when it is an employee/ owner culture issue. I will likely start taking my pet back down to PDX for healthcare. It’s a pity that is place is so poorly run. At least the vet was amazing!
