How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Columbia Veterinary Center

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I waited a while before reviewing because my dog had a condition that was never resolved at any other vet he has visited. Sammy & I are SO grateful for Dr. Cleveland's care and tenacity. His condition is finally cured, so I have full confidence he was diagnosed accurately and appropriately followed up on. Thank you so much to the team at Columbia Vet. I also appreciate that you always pick up the phone when I call. Your customer service is outstanding.

My husband and I moved fifteen years ago and began bringing our pets here. Not only do we bring all of our animals here (eleven dogs and three cats over that time), but so do our family and neighbors; we can't recommend them enough! Our old vet was nice but very expensive. Columbia Veterinary Center is less expensive, provide superior care along with being incredibly patient and kind, addressing all our questions and concerns. They have treated our pets with their arthritis, heart murmurs, congestive heart failure, kidney failure, pancreatitis, diabetes, spinal injuries, blindness and cancer, and have been there to comfort us when it was time to say goodbye. From the front office to the techs to the doctors, the entire staff take the time to visit with our pets and get to know them, along with my entire (human) family. We are grateful for the excellent treatment of our pets and the kindness they've shown us over the years. Thank you for all the care you've provided our family.

We are new to Vancouver and couldn't be more pleased with our experiences at CVC. Our 16 year old, 6 pound rescue dog was well cared for for her regular check up and for her teeth cleaning.

Great vet. Been using them for 20 years. Holy mackerel. I can't believe it has been that long. They've been there for several lifetimes for our pets. 3rd generation of dogs now. Wow.

Frustrating. I was 8 minutes late to my appointment and the vet center called me telling me they're cancelling my appointment and I need to reschedule. The receptionist who called me said I was 18 minutes late. My appointment was for 4:30 (I later double-checked the email to confirm the time) and it was currently 4:38. My ETA was 1 minute. I told this to the receptionist and she repeated that I need to reschedule in a less than friendly tone. I'm in the wrong for being late, and the receptionist handled the situation poorly. My cat went through an unnecessarily stressful car-ride because of Columbia Vet Center's arbitrary 8-minute-late policy. I'm now taking my cat to Cascade Park Animal Hospital and am happy with their service.
