How to Save Money at K9 Country Club Pet Center

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

My experience with Nick at K9 Country Club is one that has not only touched my family's life but has created a lasting bond between us and our beloved German Shepherd. This isn't just a review; it's a heartfelt thank-you note to Nick and his incredible team. From the moment we walked into K9 Country Club, we felt a sense of warmth and dedication that went beyond mere professionalism. Nick's approach to training and his genuine love for the animals was palpable. His philosophy isn't just about training dogs; it's about understanding them, respecting them, and nurturing them to be the best companions they can be. Our German Shepherd was not just a client to Nick; he was part of his extended furry family. The time, patience, and expertise that Nick invested in our pet were above and beyond what we could have expected. His insights into our dog's personality and tailored training methods brought out the best in him. What struck me the most about Nick was his integrity. I stumbled upon a few negative reviews online, and after my experience, I can confidently say they don't align with the Nick I know. If you spend time getting to know his heart, his methods, and his results, you'll find a man committed to excellence, compassion, and genuine care. Our German Shepherd has flourished under Nick's guidance. He's well-trained, happy, and a beloved member of our family, and that is largely thanks to Nick's diligent work. In a world where shortcuts are often taken, Nick stands out as someone who invests real time and genuine love into what he does. We not only found an extraordinary trainer at K9 Country Club; we found a friend. Thank you, Nick, for being more than just a dog trainer. Thank you for being a mentor, a guide, and a sincere friend to our family and our German Shepherd. Your work is more than a business; it's a calling, and it shines through in everything you do. If you're seeking more than just a place to have your dog trained, if you're looking for a place where your pet is understood, respected, and genuinely cared for, then look no further than Nick at K9 Country Club. Your furry friend will thank you, and so will your family

This is the only boarding place I have ever used for my dog; I keep seeing a few bad reviews and I don’t understand those because my dog gets so excited when we take the freeway exit to this place and he just becomes an excited mess. We both love this place and wouldn’t want to go anywhere else! Thank you for taking care of my fur baby!

They are the best in the area. We have tested a few different “highly recommended” places for our Huck and this by far has been the best. We have trained, boarded and groomed Huck there and it is literally the only place he runs to once we arrive. That is the best test…he loves it! They are well staffed and approach care in the most professional manner. This is a whole new level and I consider them experts. The facility is designed well for pets (indoor, outdoor, training like five-star gyms, etc.). TOTALLY IMPRESSED and will never return to some of the other places. It is like staying at a 2-star hotel after you have stayed at a 5-star, at the same price. I choose 5-star for Huck. They are trained professionals and have designed the facility, training and care based on what is truly best for dogs.

Nick is your worst nightmare. He’s so good at manipulating you into spending more money at his facility because of course you love your animals and if it means for them to succeed of course whatever it takes. And then once he has a grip of you, he’ll take advantage of you in the most extremed. Almost lost my Wilber if I didn’t aggressively come in and take him out of board and train because I had a gut feeling he was sick and not doing well. I’ve now had to reintroduce him to socializing with humans after spending 10k to get him breathing in his own (not exaggerating). Don’t let “Mr nice guy” “professional dog trainer” fool you.

We just picked up our dog Gus from K9 Country Club and we're so happy to have him back! Nick and his team did an excellent job with Gus and we had multiple updates through out his stay. His ability to follow directions and behavior is much improved and we're really looking forward to spending more time with our "new" Gus! I wouldn't hesitate for a second to bring another dog here for training, and I'l be recommending to all of my friends as well! Thank you all so much!!!
