How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Valley Veterinary Services
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience
Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.
Emergency Care Procedures
It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.
Communication Preferences
Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.
Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.
Facility Tour
If available, touring the clinic can help you and your pet feel more comfortable before the first visit.

I gave 3 because 1 out of 2 docs did good job. The doc that did Lucy's dental did ok. Although her mouth is still bothering her more than month later. The doc that looked at Tiki cat was very rushed ( fits her last name) maybe 15 min. I was concerned when she seemed uncertain whether to keep him on his meds for Hypothyroidism. We were diligent about getting him in for blood as suggestions. On the road for next blood draw was at different office. In 1 month he had gone into stage 3 Reienal failure. We were devastated as we had not been informed of kidney problems at this office. The new doc got him on prescription diet for kidneys. She was honest to say at that point it would be a loosing battle, and it was. A month later we had to put him to rest. Upon talking manager, he informed me of the hudge of patients they see. I would say, they need more docs or take less patients. I would not recommend this office.

Best services I've had EVER since I've been a dog owner. I'm very picky about who works on my pets. Dr. Is very intuitive, extremely knowledgeable and very kind and warm staff. They have both saved my animals life, they also are incredibly well priced. I highly recommend this office.

Super intuitive. Has a holistic approach. He's all for unnecessary procedures and all for giving the pet what the pet needs. Friendly, super knowledgeable & knows when to refer out when needed. He goes above & beyond for your pet. His staff is super nice when you call in and they are always willing to help. Thank you for everything! I recommend him.

This doctor is amazing! I love small town businesses and you can count on him for that! They got me in last minute when no other vet would. He only takes dogs under 50 pounds at this time because of surgery but double check with him.
