How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Chuckanut Valley Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

As with all vets it's harder than ever to get an appointment here. This used to be our go-to vet but some of our favorite doctors left after a couple of ownership changes. It use to be worth the drive for us as we could get in at almost a moment's notice. The staff is friendly and capable but it's not the same.

Left our Yorkie for the first ever boarding. She was well cared for and happy when we picked her up. Chuckanut is great resource with vet, grooming and boarding. We’re grateful to them for their excellent care.

I've been going to chuckanut for a few years & they have been great every time. Even when my late dog was not happy to see them, the staff was accommodating & allowed me to help them handle her so she had as positive experience as possible. Even doing scans with her lying on her back, between my legs & letting me help get her xrays done. With my puppy they're always gentle & soft with her. Both vets & techs take that extra step to make her feel comfortable.

We brought our dogs to Chuckanut for several years, but recently have left the practice to find better care. They are so overbooked they are unable to help even in a critical case, yet they continue to accept new patients. They have also done some questionable things, the most recent leading to our departure. We cannot recommend them to anyone.

I love this vet! They are always friendly, no matter who I speak with. They have taken very good care of my kitten, Daryl. I rescued him in August and he was underweight, had worms and had to have his left eye removed. He is now healthy and he is a happy little kitten. I always trust this vet and the one in Bellingham (Chuckanut Feline Center) to take care of my boys. They seem to enjoy when I bring him in, he has had several check ups to make sure he's staying healthy. They love that he always wants to play. I'm told he he so sweet (I wish he was at home😅).
