How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Veterinary Rehabilitation Services of Virginia

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I brought my dog who has hip dysplasia to the Veterinary Rehabilitation Services of Virginia to help with her chronic pain. Sophia was really thorough and did a full evaluation, massage, strengthening exercises, PEMF, laser treatment and water treadmill session. She went above and beyond to help evaluate all aspects of my dog’s care including her feed/weight, supplements and the best type of harness to use. I was able to see a positive difference in her comfort after just one session and I feel so much relief at having a great plan moving forward to help my dog be as pain free as possible. We have exercises we’ve been doing at home which have been making a difference already and will be coming back for more sessions!

I cannot say enough good things about this facility and staff. I brought my horse here after he suffered a severe leg injury. From day one, the staff was beyond friendly and accommodating for my boy and I. They kept me updated through the entire healing process, and took phenomenal care of him. It was a huge relief knowing he was getting the care and attention he needed. From the people who kept his stall clean, to the ones who treated his wounds, I couldn’t have asked for better & I will always be grateful for everyone who helped him along the way. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I highly recommend this facility.

I sent my FEI level dressage horse to them with a hind suspensory injury that we had been dealing with for over a year. He went to VRS just before he had surgery and he stayed with them after his surgery for rehabilitation. My horse came home mentaly happy, physically sound and strong enough to go back to work. He had the best care possible and I fully believe we would still have been dealing with soundness issues, if it hadn't been for the excellent care that he recevied at VRS! The team at VRS goes above and beyond for every horse. They take such wonderful care of every animal in their charge, I highly recommend using them for any horse that needs rehabilitating.
