How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Gordonsville Veterinary Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We've brought our Princess Peanut (PP) to Dr. Ackerman for over 3 years now & I have nothing but extremely high praise for this organization. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and they're all exceptionally good with our little girl. (Peanut was severely traumatized & beaten by her former owners so she's always scared to death of everything, especially electrical cords & phone charging cords.) Dr. Ackerman always takes time to chat with the parents, even if it's only to tell them that their child is doing great and the staff reliably ensures that my baby is always current with her shots, etc. every time we go in to get her nails clipped. You can definitely entrust your children's care to these wonderful people!

Having recently moved to the area, we were looking for a veterinarian to care for our two dogs. Dr Ackerman was wonderful - very knowledgeable, gentle, and compassionate. Highly recommend the entire Team at Gordonsville Veterinary Hospital!!!

Wonderful place. Although we are in our 50's, we are first time dog owners. We got our puppy at 9 weeks old and she is now 18months old. They have done a great job with routine care as well as everything else - sprained leg, swallowed cotton ball, scratched and inflamed throat due to a bone. They love animals and it shows. They go above and beyond in their explaining things, educating and tips on dogs, training, and care. We have been well pleased.

We were able to get a first appointment set for our new pup within a couple days. Before our appointment, our pup's leg was hurt. We showed up Saturday morning at 8am unannounced and was seen by Sandra who showed much care and concern for our little girl who ended up having a sprained back leg - she is fine now. We had our actual visit and were given good advice on puppy care. Every one who cared for our girl was very kind with her!
