Today as I struggle with memory loss, dizziness, vomiting and blurred vision, I would check myself into the VT large animal clinic if they would take me. They have provided exceptional care for my horses. Within a short time we had an emergency visit and then scheduled surgery where our pony is now fully recovered. The veterinarians were so efficient in providing care and coordinating surgery and rehabilitation. In my experience, they have provided better medical care for my animals than what’s available to humans.

Our youngest rescued schoolhorse was at a full care boarding facility where he sustained a serious injury that had become septic. He was extremely lame with major swelling the day before Christmas Eve. If it weren't for Dr. Reeder, Dr. Henson, Dr. Patton, Dr. K, and sheer luck he might not be with us today. We were given a bleak prognosis at first and were prepared to say goodbye but by the grace of God we are extremely fortunate to have our family member alive and in recovery. Thank you to the sweet staff who braided his mane and made his Christmas special, and thank you as always for the professional demeanor and empathetic bedside manner of the large animal vets at Virginia Tech. My family has used Virginia Tech for three decades and I wouldn't recommend any other large animal vet! 🥰🎄🦄

We would like to thank Dr. Steers and her team for all their work with Sebastian. He was brought in on Saturday June 13 in critical condition. He had gotten vaccinated on Friday June 5. The following week he went down hill. He was very dehydrated and his kidney levels were very high at 9.5. Over the next week we were updated several times a day on his condition. Friday we were advised that Sebastian could come home for us to take over caring for him. The first several days looked very grim for our baby Sebastian. This past week we spent every minute with him nursing and caring for him. On Wednesday the 24th Sebastian turned a corner! He had wagged his tale and lick us several times. Something he has not done since he was vaccinated. Over the past two days Sebastian has been taking short walks and eating more solid foods. We owe Dr. Steers, her team and Virginia Tech Veterinary Hospital a great deal of appreciation! If not for them I feel Sebastian would not be here today! I am gonna send some pictures of Sebastian from his past two weeks of progress. Again thank you all so much!

The doctors are brilliant, professional, highly skilled and very friendly. The students are so bright and eager and helpful. And the facilities are state of the art and convenient. We are extremely fortunate to have these people and this facility so close.
