How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Southwest Animal Emergency Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We've used this facility twice. The first time was when our dog had his first seizure and we didn't know what was happening to him. The vet was great and knowledgeable and put our worries at ease. The second time was approximately 2 years later when that same dog started with cluster seizures and would not recover. Shayla and the vet at the second visit (didn't get vet's name, unfortunately), were absolutely wonderful. Thank you for being so kind, and empathetic as we grieved the loss of our beloved Bassett.

This clinic saved my Cat from certain death. I am forever grateful for the people who work here. Kevin is healthy and thriving now!

My pregnant dog went into labor and I was told to go to the emergency clinic if it didn’t progress. I took her in because we were worried she was trying to deliver 2 puppies at the same time. They got an ultrasound and an X-ray and said for the moment the puppies were fine and that we could try to let her labor longer. If she didn’t progress within the next 4 hours then to bring her back in that they would keep her chart out in case. Well she didn’t progress so we called to get in line and they told us they were too busy, that they close at 11, they were not going to stay any later and to head to Vegas. Now my dog hadn’t progressed in 7 hours at this point and they refused to see us even though they told us to come back. We took her to Vegas where they found she had an abrupt placenta detachment as well as puppies and mom being in distress for 9 hours at this point. They are understaffed, but the caring factor was horrible and was lacking. Hope to never use them again. I wish we had more emergency vet clinics because this was a horrific experience. If you have to go to Vegas, the VECC center was amazing.

I noticed last Saturday my dog's ear was swollen almost like a pillow. My typical vet was closed and I was worried. It made an appointment with Southwest Animal Emergency Clinic. They got me in quickly, dignosed the problem, and treated it. We thought my dog would need surgery, but they were able to treat it so effectively that it was resovled without that need. After visiting my Vet today he said this is the first time he has seen this resolve without Surgery. As you can imagine the experience at this clinic has been top rate. I found the staff professional, caring, and great to work with.

They are the most compassionate animal caregivers and they are very comforting when help is too late. Our puppy passed away due to unknown reasons and they were so kind. I would recommend them to anyone that has an animal emergency.
