How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Vetco Vaccination Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I arrived 15 minutes early and was welcomed by Briana to sign in for my pet's vaccination appointment. My dog was excited, scared, and barking. This was his second time coming to Petco for a vaccination appointment so my dog was very aware of what was going on. My dog was barking at the many other dogs that were there for their appointments. Briana preceded to tell my dog to stop and then asked me to move my dog away from the check in stand and the other dogs. I thought she was being rude and just not welcoming. When my dog was called to see the vet, I was immediately asked if he was going to bite me. I said no my dog does not bite he just is excited and doesn't really care for how many dogs that are in the store right now. Dr. Jeri Nokes then says that she may need a muzzle for my dog and that if he bites me that we would have to figure out something else. Dr. Jeri then asked me if my dog was Rottweiler or Labrador. I said he is actually both, Dr. Jeri then replied saying "well he looks more rottweiler to me". Dr. Jeri did not touch my dog at all and asked me to hold my dog as she gave the shot. She continued to ask if the dog is going to bite me. My dog was not acting aggressive in any way. After she administered the shot she asked me to take my dog back to the car and then I can return for my paperwork. I felt like my dog was treated like a wild animal just for simply barking and being a Rottweiler mix dog. I've never experienced racism with a dog. A dog shouldn't be treated a certain way based on their breed. I had my three children with me and we were all just disheartened by our experience. Our dog is the sweetest big dog ever and wouldn't hurt anyone. I never thought a dog and an owner would be mistreated because a dog was being a dog by barking. I will never use the vaccination clinic with Petco again.
