How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Lone Star Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

If you want your fur babies to be shown love & kindness, but not break the bank, come to Lone Star!! We are incredibly grateful for Dr. Zeplin! We were visiting Victoria for the 4th of July with family (we are from the DFW area). Our dog began to struggle to breathe and we thought we were going to lose him. Dr. Zeplin was the only Vet willing to help us. She went above and beyond for our Buster pup & literally saved his life!! We are so grateful for her heart and love for animals, and her selfless sacrifice. Please support this local business!!

Dr Zeplin was awesome. I called her early Sunday morning and she met with us right away. My little 17 year old winner dog was really sick and the Dr took really good care of her. Thank you.

Lone Star Hospital has been taking care of my dogs for about 12 years. The staff is warm and caring. The vets always provide excellent care, answer all of my questions and help me make the best decisions for my dogs. In addition, they provide great follow up care. I love that my pets can be treated there after hours when there is an emergency. Boarding facilities are great!

Absolutely the very best. Anytime I need anything, especially, in an emergency the Lone Star team always shows up for my dogs. The entire staff is friendly and puts your animal first. Victoria is lucky to have Lone Star!

The pricing is fair and i liked Dr. Daniel a lot. However, after trying to board my younger cat I found they didn’t give her a rabies shot. When I questioned why, the person who I spoke with was defensive and stated it was my fault because I didn’t specify it. My older cat has the rabies vaccine and I asked them to fully check and vaccinate my younger when we found her. The staff member was dismissive and rude. I understand mistakes happen and things can be overlooked but taking responsibility and accountability are important.
