How to Save Money at The Village Vet at Sterling Ridge
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
If I am remembering correctly, we have been frequenting Village Vet, and specifically Dr. Mark Moore, for over 20 years. Our visits often come with a bit of entertainment which can be a breath of fresh air. Then at the same time our animals have been well taken cared for and in a professional manner. The only reason this is not a 5 star rating is about the cost. While they are a top notch vet clinic, they are also expensive. Do you get what you paid for? Unfortunately, I can't answer that, but I do think living in The Woodlands plays a large part in their pricing. It's an expensive place to live. When we first moved here we took our animals to a vet we met and went to church with. We adored and loved this man, this well trained doctor, immensely. He was a very good doctor, he saved one of my little dogs getting an operation that was very out of date, and their prices were far more reasonable. So why haven't we continued to see this vet? Because very sadly, and at a very young age, he passed away with ALS. Thus, we landed at Village Vet and haven't departed because of the quality of care in addition to all the people who work at this clinic are sweet, great fun, gentle with our babies and always concerned for them, all while continuing to be professional. Lastly, this clinic is very well care for itself in that the decor is understated and the clinic is immaculately cleaned!!!

Dr. Moore and that staff here are so wonderful!! We moved from Canada with our two dogs, and have been so pleased with everything from these wonderful people! The staff are super lovely and accommodating for reactive dogs and make us feel like family with each visit. I have a senior pup with Cushings, and they have been so great helping us source her medication. We get such awesome veterinary care from Dr. Moore and thoroughly enjoy our visits! The staff was amazing with my other pup who struggles with vet visits and nail trims, too! Thank you to everyone here for always being so great!

The Village Vet is an excellent place to bring your pups. I have been here several times and I have interacted with three different vets. All are extremely professional and helpful. They seem to charge less than other vets. They always answer the phone when we call and assist immediately. The front desk workers and the vet techs are also so friendly and helpful. We are so glad we found this vets office.

Took my dog in here about a little more than a year ago for an estimate on teeth cleaning. Vet took one look at me and without asking about my financial situation told me I wouldn't be able to afford it. I was given some helpful advice and referrals on how to combat my dog's anxiety and OCD, but was told I probably wouldn't be able to afford the specialist vet they referred me to either. They were perfectly fine with charging me $60 for the referrals and estimate though. I still get emails reminding me to bring my dog back so I thought I would leave this review. I got my dog's teeth cleaned for about $500 at Veterinary Medical Center on I-45. Hope this helps anyone else who wasted time & money here being told they couldn't afford services afford here.

There are several Vets with this practice and we've visited with 3 of them consistently over the last 10 years. They are all excellent. The Vet Tech's' are fantastic too. They obviously all love the animals and take excellent care of them. We'll definitely keep coming back!
