Extremely happy Dr. Sam was there! Next closest vet is 80 miles. On vacation with wife 3 sons and Roxy, our 6lb morkie who was attacked by an employee's in-leashed dog at the High Cierra Bar & Grille a block away. We are only 24hrs post surgery and a 24hr 1500 mile trip home but she seems to being doing very well considering she lost an eye from the attack. Dr. Sam saved her life!!!! Dr. Sam was great! Our mini schnauzer starting bed-wetting. We recognized the signs of incontinence since we had had previous experience with our previous mini. Since we were vacationing in Big Bend National Park, help was a long ways way. I looked online to find a "vet near me". Terlingua Ghost town was the closest one at an hour away. I called Rio Vet Services when I got cell phone service. Dr. Sam answered. I thought that was a bit strange. When I asked if he had availability he stated that he could be around. Stranger still. When I finally got there, he wasn't there. I panicked. I knew that my bed-wetting schnauzer could cause us to shorten our vacay. As I rounded the back of the building he drove up on his utility vehicle. The rest of the story is this: he is retired with no overhead. He holds clinic twice a week. He made time for me and my "piddler". I showed up on a Friday, one of his non-clinic days. This man is special and he cares for both man and beast. I am extremely thankful for him. My baby got the medicine she needed. I got the uninterrupted sleep I needed and Hubby got the rest of the vacation he needed. Thanks Doc!

Honestly, where else can you get a three-year rabies shot and tag for your doggo for $20?!? This vet is caring and wonderful.
