How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Bulverde Bexar Vet

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We drive 45 minutes, passing countless Vet clinics for our pets to get the best, kindest, most loving treatment. They are a first come first serve basis, so make sure you get there early. Bar none the best service and treatment a veterinarian could provide.

DON’T GO HERE. AVOID. This place is AWFUL. Tried to take my injured dog here but they couldn’t even bother to call us back for pricing or tell us that they don’t do xrays on Saturday. We need better vets out here who actually care!

Very impressed with Dr Degen and her compassion. They saw a sick kitten as a walk-in and understood limited finances. Will use them again!

Many years of taking our fur babies here. We love Dr. Craig Elbel & Dr. Leslie Degen . Staff is great . Laura is always kind and friendly. Just want to say thank you from Chino and Jin.

I took my 12 year old kitty in for a severe skin rash today (a Wednesday around 2 pm). I hadn't taken her to them in over ten years but they still had her old records on file. While the vet who helped us was a bit abrupt, she was direct and efficient. The staff at the front desk was super helpful and talked with me in detail about the various flea treatments they have available. I was able to make a good, informed decision (especially since I had also previously compared many of them online). We were out of the office in about half an hour. Best of all, it was super affordable! Steroid shot and 8 mo. supply of high quality multiple flea meds for $137. Can't be beat!
