How to Save Money at Banfield Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Took very good care of my cat, and her eye infection, did not take long to diagnose and prescribe medication. We bring all three of our puppies here. Well worth the investment in the Wellness programs.

My wife had this cat since 2003. The previous veterinarian gave her a guesstimated age of six at that time. That would make her 22yrs at her time of death. I truly appreciate the exceptional care that we received during our visit; from the front desk lady, and all the way up to the doctor, (I can’t remember her name but she’s young and Asian). The kids, wife and I painted rocks and placed under a indoor plant for a small memorial. About 2wks later we received a very thoughtful card from all of the staff, AND a paw print. Sweetest thing ever. If I ever had a question, concern or, whatever about our new companion, I’d be calling them. 10/10*********

Kai is one of the best vetnerian technicians I have come across at any Banfield locations. Kai is very knowledgeable, highly caring towards the pets and very patience. She provides detail analysis of pets condition..she also make sure that client gets a complete understanding of what are the symptoms and what can be done to prevent those in the future. Kai answered all my tough questions with confidence and in a manner that I understand in a way to take preventive measures at home. Thank you, Kai for your service today. You appear to be an expert in your field and clearly your passion matches that. I had you confused with a doctor. You have a bright future. I hope Banfield recognizes your talent and help you become even more successful in your career.

Took my fur baby in to get checked out because he wasn't feeling well. I had an AMAZING experience there. Vet seemed very knowledgeable about his diagnosis. I had a vet assistant named Heather and she went above and beyond helping me with my cats needs. They also did a follow up to make sure he was ok. I will return in the future for any of my cats needs. Everyone was very caring. My cat is doing super awesome and I'm so happy!

We've been going to this Banfield for about a year now after going to other ones in Round Rock and Cedar Park. This one by far is the best. Every time we've had to take our cats in, they are have been patient and kind. They treat our girls with respect and always take time to listen to my concerns and help explain anything myself or my fiance don't understand. One of our cats is very scared of the vet, and at a different Banfield, we felt like they were rushing and annoyed that she needed to be handled with a little more patience. This has never been an issue here. Every doctor we've seen (most recently Dr. Hekel) has treated her with kindness and understanding. One of the vet techs (I missed her name, I'm so sorry I did!) was even happy when she was still spicy when she was brought in when she was sick because she said that's how we knew she'd be OK. Everyone at this location I have encountered loves animals and takes great care of them. Thank you so much!
