How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Long Meadow Veterinary Clinic
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We found a puppy after Hurricane Beryl, and didn’t know where to start/what to do. The staff & doctor were SO helpful, loving & kind towards her. She wanted to stay back and hang out with them. You can tell that everyone who works here, truly does it because of their love for animals. Very thankful to have found this place.

We took our pitbull, Bentley, here to get a check up and to do some sampling. The veterinarian and staff were so welcoming. They made us feel at ease. We are so grateful to have found such a wonderful clinic near us to take special care of our sweet dog Bentley. Thank you!

Edit 8----10 Sasha's thyroid medication was twice the dosage she should have been taking per testing. Edit 8-2 Obviously Jenny you aren’t actually reading my post. Both dogs are seriously sick right now and several symptoms missed by your staff. One has to ask themselves why a company of ten or less needs a VP of Public Relations??? Edit 7-31-24 Sasha was examined and found to also have a heart murmur stage 2 getting an ultrasound done next Monday. Sasha also has a terrible bacterial infection in her left ear and put on medication. Two things missed at last exam just a little over two weeks. Waiting for lab results for thyroid etc and urine. Sasha was behind in two exams and one shot. Shame shame. Edit7-27-24 Jenny, yes we did speak before I edited my review updated yesterday. I am livid that I brought Scout to Dr Albritton last Monday informing her that Scout was not feeling well or himself at all. He went from being normal acting to not being able to hold his head up, drink water unless I hand did it for him, lethargic, and not eating. Scout spent an hour in the back and nothing or any type of test was done on him that day. Scout was brought out and I was informed he was all right. I took him home and my husband said what did they do for Scout. I said she told me there was nothing wrong with him. My husband said she couldn’t see his neck and eyes drooping? Then you all via Helen text me not to touch his head or put him on a leash. Absolutely ridiculous to tell me about his head because how am I to get his meds down his throat? I don’t use leashes and have brought my dogs there with Gentle Leader Harnesses on. My dogs are nine years old not pups. Took Scout to another vet and first thing noticed after examining him and moving his head left and right was the right side caused pain. His right shoulder blade was protruding straight up across. Tests were done to rule out bone cancer. The meds given for pain by LMV were not sufficient in dosage to curtail pain. Scout is now on correct dosage of three meds and can now pick up his head, eat, and drink. Scout is just beginning other testing. You totally missed my point. Neither dog had any major issues when we started there. I now wonder when all these major issues that are now prevalent were missed. I have always been a dog owner that prefers to stick to one vet only. I should have left like my gut told me this past February. Please take me off your mailing list. I received a letter after we spoke by phone. You know the one dated July 1 and postmarked from FL saying you will give a $25.00 gift card for every referral. Hope that works to drum up business but perhaps money should be spent on your techs and their training 7-26-24 For some reason my review 11 months ago that I wrote about this clinic will not allow me to edit. So here is my update. If you care about your pet give this place a miss and find another vet. I took my two dogs here mainly because we moved and they were close and old vet had sold his business to a private company. Nonetheless, my two dogs were not sick when they started here but are now. One reason, medication dosages were not correct for weight or need such as thyroid. That is just the start. Many symptoms have been overlooked and serious. One dog needs surgery. They talk you into signing up for their health plan....you pay $49.00 month. You save like $5.00 discount off things. You are better off if you do go here not to utilize what they think saves you money but rather puts a hook in you to keep coming back. My dogs mean the world to me. This place is disorganized and like the swinging door of vet techs.
