How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Salt Creek Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Kaitlyn is the best vet I have ever dealt with in my 42 years. She is knowledgeable and thorough. Very easy to talk and informative. Best vet clinic around.

Salt Creek has saved both of my cats. It's so nice to have them in case of emergencies/after hours. Staff is great. Very knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring. No where I would rather take them than Salt Creek or Countryside.

We absolutely love SCVH, they take care of all three dogs. There are 3 vets that our dogs love so we always try to schedule their appointments when one of the three is in. Been using SCVH for 2 years now so I would highly recommend them.

I would give this clinic 10 stars if I could! When my horse coliced all the large animal vets were out of town. I frantically called around to find someone who could treat him. They told me to bring him in within the hour and immediately started working on him. He needed treatment for several days to pull him through. The vet, Dr. Katie Fischer is fantastic!! She's Very Knowledgeable and compassionate. I was given regular updates on his condition which helped ease my fears during a panicking situation. If your horse is also your kid or family I HIGHLY recommend Dr. KATIE!

We were traveling from Dallas to Lubbock on backroads, when my wife's favorite dog had a seizure. We were almost exactly halfway between our vet in Dallas and my son's vet in Lubbock, and it was about 4 pm on a Friday - but we googled "vet near me", and we were two miles from Salt Creek, so we were walk-ins. Dr. Mariah took great care of Elmo, and explained EVERYTHING to my wife. She called our vet in Dallas, verified that they had not done blood work after his first seizure, apologized that the cost would be about $200 ("honey, be real! My daughter has worked at a 24-hour emergency vet hospital for years. $200 is nothing!"), drew blood, and had results back in 15 minutes to share with us. They do a lot of large animals, but they handled a 12 pound dog just fine. I only wish they weren't three hours away, or they'd be our vets, for sure!
