How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Live Oak Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I have been taking my pups here for several years, and I really like the doctors and staff. My dogs are always taken care of efficiently and with care. I especially like that they accept walk ins, because sometimes you would like them to be seen right away.

Dr. Clary and Dr. Ackler have provided amazing care for our pup and helped us make sure he stays healthy. Every visit he is welcomed with smiles & love the moment we walk in the door by the front desk staff no matter how busy they are, and they are always busy. He loves the hugs & attention he gets from the vet techs in the room. It is just a great & wonderful experience for him. And for us, knowing our pup is in great care by people who care. It makes a difference!!

Live oak is a fantastic vet! Everyone there is so nice and care deeply about each animal that walks in the door. It’s always busy there because they’re arguably the best vet clinic in town. Something I just wanted to mention to the other reviewers complaining about wait times, give the staff some slack. They all have to see so many customers and emergencies throughout the day. Also, if you’re a walk-in, there is going to be a longer wait. It’s as simple as that. Its like if you make a reservation at a restaurant versus just showing up. Regardless, be kind to staff. This is a great clinic and I highly recommend.

I drove a little over and hour and 40 minutes because Live Oak was the ONLY place that was taking walk ins near me. I was scared my sweet dog wasn't going to make it on the drive down, but he did. Live Oak was incredible from the moment we walked in the doors (receptionists, to the nurse, and doctor). I cannot thank them enough for making my dog feel better! They were able to do xrays and bloodwork in house and it was relatively quick for being a walk in and they were pretty busy (at least 6 other dogs & 1cat in the lobby)! Highly recommend!

A long awaited review... I adore Live Oak!! I have only been to the location on 98th but have had an excellent experience every time! For reasons ranging from check-ups and vaccinations for both my cat and dog, to emergency visits for my pup after she got into my trash, they have treated all of us with the best care and patience I could ask for. It's important to note I've never felt like I was being upsold or coerced into extra services. I've taken my cat for a chronic issue and the vet gave me every idea in the book to help the issue before hinting that it was time to think about blood tests and panels. I've also brought a couple rescues here and they are so helpful with resources and checking with staff to see if anyone is able to foster. The reception girls are also so awesome and are quick with questions, phone calls, and greeting you. I recommend to everyone!!
