Our 16 yr old schnauzer received regular prescriptions of Gabapentin from this vet. When the prescription was last filled the vet gave us wrong pills. This was initially confirmed by poison control and the veterinary emergency group. This mistake resulted in our dog losing nearly 4 lbs of weight and spending 4 days in the emergency room. The Animal Hospital of Heath later confirmed their vet tech made a mistake and gave us incorrect pills. Both the poison control and emergency group confirmed the pills were too high a dosage and caused damage to our senior dog. Even coming home after the emergency stay our schnauzer had trouble walking and began to develop seizures which the emergency group said may have been brought on by the tough week. We spoke with a Vet at the Heath location to discuss quality of life. In the end if was either have our dog sedated all day, not being able to stand on her own, to prevent seizures or look into euthanasia. We laid our dog to rest a few days later. I felt that the animal hospital didn’t show enough sincerity for the passing of our dog which was caused by their mistake.

Wouldn’t really recommend. They don’t answer their phones! They forget to take your deposit amount off of your total bill unless you remind them when you’re a new patient. Will text you for a few months after you’ve already picked up your medicine to come and get it. Also they will call you after you’ve picked up your medicine to tell you to come and get it. They just don’t pay attention to details. Small things like answering a phone for a business can make a world difference in customer service. The vet was nice and her assistant. Ladies at the front desk not so much.

DO NOT TRUST THIS CLINIC! They gave our family dog an incorrect prescription which made her very sick & eventually led her to her death. They didn't seem sincere in their apology nor did they right their wrong as the person who negligently filled the incorrect prescription is still working there. My kids are heart broken that their best friend they've known since they were born is gone and nothing can bring her back. Choose another vet clinic because this could be you.

Reposting this review since the owner replied disclosing my pets private medical information and name. I specifically stated that they do not have permission to disclose this and requested those parts be edited out. They refused. I took my pet to the other location, but same vets. They will try to squeeze every cent out of you in office. My pet was misdiagnosed and given medication for something he didn’t have and I am allergic to. I was judged and given attitude for wanting to give my dog the best care possible. I am a former Vet Tech and recently moved to the area and brought my senior large breed dog in for his yearly, discuss therapeutic ways to help with his hip dysplasia and arthritis, plus talk about some concerns I had regarding some odd symptoms he was having. My first appointment was with Dr. WaWak. She was clearly not listening at all. I told her that since moving here, my dog has no longer had any allergies, I particularly mentioned this because I thought she would have read his past medical record which she clearly didn’t. I told her that he was on allergy medications, but they stopped working. Dr.Wawak recommend giving my dog allergy medications afterwards. When discussing arthritis and hip dysplasia, I expressed he was doing great and gets pain meds on bad days. I asked about if they do prp injections since I was previously recommended to do them by multiple vets. She didn’t seem to know what it was. Dr. WaWak then recommended giving a injectable pain medication every 4-8 weeks and said he may need to get a total hip replacement and specifically said it would be 40k. It was clear she thought that was too much to spend on my pet. She did say yes to giving me a referral to aqua therapy which I never received. Dr.Wawak said he had a skin infection and prescribed antibiotics. I was skeptical of the skin infection so, I didn’t give them past one day combined with my dog was having clear overdose signs after the second dose of the day. We ended up coming in for a urinalysis since some of his levels on his bloodwork was high. The first time they didn’t schedule correctly and I had to come back because my pet had an accident while waiting. When I spoke on the phone with Dr. WaWak, I asked what the next step would be if the urinalysis comes back ok and she said his symptoms (weight lost, increased drinking, uncharacteristic accidents, heavy breathing, diarrhea) were explained by “the heat”…. He is a strictly indoor dog who goes out early and late to avoid the heat and has a cooling sheet if he has to go out while it’s hot. After this appointment, I called 5 surgical centers and universities for pricing for the hip replacement. When I told them I was quoted 40k multiple people laughed. I was quoted 25k at most walking out with all the bloodwork, medications, x-rays, surgery and consultations. I found 3 vets who do prp injections for dogs with hip and arthritis in the Dallas area. I spoke to an office manager, Naomi, after because of my experience who apologized profusely for Dr. WaWak behavior and she set up another appointment with Dr. Clary. It was clear I was a nuisance and to them by their attitude. It was very uncomfortable. Dr. Clary said that injections “destroys their joints and makes arthritis worse” while talking about prp and asked who recommended this. Multiple did. Dr. Clary charged us for the same panel of bloodwork that my dog had done a week prior which I did get a refund on along with a somewhat nasty email from Naomi with less than half of his medical records which stated he they recommended a dental which I was never told directly. Dr. Clary did state that my dog did not have a skin injection. He had no intervention or treatment for this during the time between appointments. I did end up showing all the diagnostics to another vet who said we caught something early. He has been on a supplement for this for a week + and all of his symptoms have gotten significantly better. This vet had all the same information that both clary and wawak had.

Always available for my little yorky. And my dog doesn't start shaking or come back shaking like at other vets I've found. These guys and gals love all the pets and treat them so kindly and soft.
