I’m so glad Harlingen Urgent Vet is here! Everyone was so kind and helped my family feel at ease leaving our dog there for an invasive surgery. I just don’t know where to start! I have so much good to say about this establishment! For starters the “walk ins welcome “ is the best thing to have happened in the RGV. It’s difficult finding, well, urgent care for pets anywhere. At the time of this review, we have a cat that is being hospitalized in Corpus Christi. 24 hour care is only available at the emergency pet hospital in McAllen, however they can’t offer specialized medical treatment such as what our cat was requiring. And we had to take him there because of a serious lack of skilled care from what is now our former vet to the tune of >$1200 for virtually nothing. So then when we came back home and one of our other cats seemed to be in need of veterinary attention and of course on a weekend. Fortunately I remembered that this place had recently opened. This is where Urgent Vet steps in to my story. When we arrived we were met by two welcoming, courteous and interested receptionists. There was zero awkwardness. We were simply put in the queue. Within 20 minutes we were taken to a room. We were also offered water and coffee. The technician who came in to gather information was friendly and knowledgeable. He took down all of our information and explained what steps were next. Dr. Martinez then came in to assess our cat. She and the technician handled our cat with extreme skill and gentleness. The kitty didn’t struggle and they made sure to handle extra carefully as one of the things we had mentioned was what looked to be some possible back pain. After a few more observations they took her into the back to clean ears and perform some other treatments. Dr. Martinez and the entire staff have a perfect balance of professionalism, compassion, empathy and personalization. Dr. Martinez did not rush the visit. She took the time to talk about what was going on with each of the things we were concerned about. It was quite apparent to me that she is a highly competent and skilled veterinarian. She is straight up and to the point. There’s no fancy talking or sugar coating. Just straight up skillful assessments. Our kitty came home and seemed so much happier, still a Diva, but a happy one ;) I will make the drive from Brownsville to Harlingen for all of my veterinary needs from here on out!

My entire family uses both Harlingen Urgent Vet and McAllen Urgent Vet. All of the staff are wonderful and make you and your pets feel like they are truly receiving the best care possible. Prices are VERY reasonable, doctors are extremely knowledgeable, and technicians treat the pets like they are their own. You can tell everyone loves their job. My grandma recently joined in at Harlingen Urgent Vet as well, now that it’s open, since her older kitty needs therapy for his arthritis. It’s close to her house, so her kitty doesn’t have to stress out about long car rides anywhere. She LOVED it here! It’s hard to impress my grandma, but she thanked me for recommending them and will be bringing in the rest of her fur babies. Love you guys! Keep being amazing for all of our pets and us owners as well!! 💗

I had to bring my dog in for an emergency, and I cannot say enough good things about this hospital. Dr. Gonzalez, Jonathan and Alex showed incredible compassion and made both me and my pup feel at ease during a stressful time. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and truly went above and beyond to make sure my dog was cared for. Dr. Gonzalez explained everything clearly and took the time to answer all my questions. You can tell they genuinely care about the animals they treat. I am so grateful for the kindness and professionalism of the entire team and prices were super reasonable for a Sunday afternoon emergency with no appointment. We are so lucky to have this hospital in Harlingen!
