How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Northwest Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

After several years and a couple of frustrating vet experiences, we moved our two doodles from a nearby vet to NWAH and we are so glad we did! We have seen two different doctors for annual visits and random illnesses and always feel like they really listen. They’ve explained possible diagnoses and provided options and just great care. We also love the vet tech, Ryan Kate, who is helpful, knowledgeable and has a natural way of putting our nervous dogs at ease. Scheduling is never a problem and the desk staff are also kind.

I cannot be complimentary enough about every single staff member, technician, and doctor at this wonderful animal hospital. Dr. Shipp is my baby Cayde's favorite. She loves him like her own and has never steered us wrong. I will always defer to her when it comes to doing what's best for Cayde. It is so refreshing to have a place where the pet is valued over the all mighty dollar.

We’d like to thank dr Hall & the staff for their excellent & compassionate care of our senior dog Bailey. We’d not been a long term patient but they were kind beyond our expectations in his final months. He always had plenty of time to discuss options and care. there was no charge for our final visit and they sent flowers to us with their condolences. Extraordinary care.

I am not a fulltime resident of Grapevine, Texas (yet) and I so appreciate your help while we transition to you as our fulltime Vet for Axle. From my initial contact with your front office staff through the examination and doctor consultation, both Axle and I feel very comfortable. I came to you as a recommendation and will pay it forward, always.

Very disapointing. Receptionists are rude and uncaring. Get the feeling that upselling is more important than well being of puppy. Took new puppy there and was given and PAID for interceptor AND flea and tick mecication for a baby (less than 2ms old) doesn't go outside yet. Because they took advantage of my 17 ur old niece. Also, after asking for "core" vaccines ONLY, they insinsted on all of these for a 2 mo old. (see recommended core vaccines from the AVMA. For a 2-month-old dog, the recommended core vaccines include those protecting against canine distemper, adenovirus-2 (hepatitis), parvovirus, and rabies. Non-core vaccines, like those for leptospirosis, Bordetella (kennel cough), and canine influenza, may also be recommended based on your dog's lifestyle and risk factors. Niece was told they HAVE to have the non core!!! Horrible. After asking for a alternative to "interceptor" was told that is this was the only Heart worm they recomend. I wonder how much $$$$ they get paid for each RX they write. I could go on and on BUT, there would be no point, they will NOT take accountability, They fly right under the radar of what is legal. They will just come back and say it's safe because the drug copanies sell it that way. Horrible. If you question them they become defensive. I've never gone to a vet before that didn't welcome questions and people doing their research. Shameful that my 17 yr old niece was taken advantage of like this with her first puppy. In addition to being in full control of the fee-per-appointment, veterinarians now also earn revenue for administering prescriptions, over-the-counter, and nutritional products directly. Or other incentives in some
