How to Save Money at Banfield Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
These people are all about money, but my experience at Banfield Coit was a totally different experience than what I’m about to explain. Take your pets to any other location outside of this one. PLEASE. My review: Cynthia is incredibly bland and not inviting. There was no greeting and I’m a person that works in customer service so I look for those types of thing. Cynthia apparently didn’t know anything about anything she should have known. Cynthia did know about hiking up prices though. I went to that place expecting $50-100 bill that I was quoted and after dropping my dog off I was called and told about additional tests that bought costs up to over $300. I talked to 3 people at that location and was told 3 different things about their plans. I talked to Cynthia one last time over the phone asking about my options and her answer was blatantly “I don’t know.” Cynthia called me back and gave me a new quote of $600… my dog already has a plan with Banfield(Greenville Ave), by the way. Partially about the money, but it the EXPERIENCE with these people didn’t even give me any type of comfort in evening spending any money with them. The only reason for the second star is because the other employees were okay especially Rob he was the only empathetic person on staff I encountered.

I used to like Bandfield. But since Austin and the previous Vet doctor left all I’m doing is paying money with no good results. The new people there looks like they don’t care about your pet. I took my dog Luna a couple of weeks ago. She developed a nasty rash so they gave me antibiotics for that rash because it had gotten infected. A few weeks later that rash never went away and it’s gotten worse. I called in this morning, was asked if it was an emergency or if I could be placed on hold. I said sure I can be placed on hold, I thought maybe it would be max 5 minutes. No they left me holding almost 20 minutes. That’s the care they put into your pets. I’m going to cancel the wellness plane. I miss Austin and the previous vets! It’s not the same. I would also like to add that on our last visit I asked that my dog anal glands be cleaned. Well, it didn’t seem like it did because my dog on the same day she kept rubbing her butt on the floor and hasn’t stopped. I’m beginning to think that all they want is to get money from clients.

They always struggle to approve prescriptions through other pharmacies that aren't them. The wellness plan isn't worth the struggle either because they are always so busy. I don't recommend getting the plan at all.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE. I had the worst experience with my cat here, they only care about being able to bill as much as they can and send you in your way. The experience started off well, my cat was very sick and I scheduled an appointment for 5:30 PM. My cat is an older cat and unfortunately I believed the issue with her was old age and her being in her final days. The tech at Banfield called me to get her in earlier as they closed at 6. I dropped my cat off at 12 PM. I heard nothing from Banfield until I called them at 4 :30 inquiring if there was any news, to which the tech was surprised that I had not been called with an update on treatment options (they claim they did diagnostic testing at 1:30 PM). When the Vet got on the phone he had no news, suggested I take her 24 hr hospital care, have a bunch of test run, and on top of that they had not even hydrated my cat (which was a major concern for them). Then lied about what test could be done and sent out before they closed in 60 min. The vet also told me he could give me a call about the results of one of the test on a Sunday when they were closed, but couldn’t call to give an update on my cat same day. When I went to pick up my cat the lead tech wanted to argue with me about what was done and not done and whether or not the Vet had called and left a message on my phone (which obviously I could prove they did not because they weren’t calling a landline), all while I’m distraught over my dying pet. The lack of care and professionalism that I experienced at Banfield was overwhelming and disappointing, especially given why I was there in the first place. Save your time and money from going here. They only care about being able to bill you and make as much money as possible. Unfortunately my cat did cross the rainbow bridge, but at her usual vet, where the time was taken to explain all my options and I and my girl were able to feel comfortable and at peace.

The only issue was that it was 259.00$$ and that's not what I was quoted. As I had little $$$ and needed to use my care credit . I didn't want all the extras. Wanted but was not in my budget. But Cindy was great she let me hold my baby n spend time before I said goodbye . I will go back maybe the was just confusing on the pricing 190.00 n 30 Xtra. Makeing it 220 $$ not 259.00 But it's ok they treated me n my baby so very kind and loved on her she was almost 17 thanks a million
