How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Val Verde Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I was going to leave a not so great review because they told me I didn't have an appointment on the day I actually did. I said I'd wait for one (it was a 5 min wellness check) I waited 45 min and decided I was gonna walk out but Dr. Farr fit my pup and didn't rush our exam. They couldn't fit my pup in asap because she is an aggressive breed (she had a serious eye issue going on). Reasonably priced meds. Wasn't a big fan of the older receptionist lady, pretty sure she's the one that messed up our appointment times and wasn't friendly towards us upon walking in.

Courteous helpful staff. They welcomed me and all my young little puppies. Handled them and mama dog gently. Shots completed and out in no time. Really liked Dr. Laura.

Our first encounter with Dr. Pharr and her friendly staff was an emergency visit with a 5-week old kitten rescue in acute distress. Our new kitty received care above and beyond and is doing so much better! We'll be bringing all our pets here from now on. Pictures below before and after treatment for eye and respiratory infections.

Dr. Pharr is very thorough and great with my cats. Great pricing and always able to get me in quickly for urgent care situations.

This is the ONLY vet in town that I will go to. They take care of my 2 babies, one Rottweiler and one Husky. The staff here always work with what's more comfortable for my dogs and have patience with them. They are always busy but I understand how they can be busy for being amazing with what they do. Their hold times are long but again I'd rather go with a vet that cares than one that would rather muzzle my dog immediately. Thank you for all that you do ❤
