How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Longwood Animal Hospital and Pet Resort

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

The whole staff is welcoming and caring! My dogs like everyone there and so do I! The treatments have been effective and helpful with my sick babies. Thank you Longwood!

I love going here. The staff and Vets are all helpful and friendly and not rushed. They generally see us on time also so they aren't cramming too many appointments into the day. I really appreciate that. My pups -while not thrilled to be there- trust the staff as well.

They denied the shipment of our dogs Medicine because we were due for a heartworm test. So now my dog has fleas and possibly heartworms because we have been waiting to get in to see them. Office said we got denied our prescription because she didn’t have an up to date heartworm test. So we went in for a test and then inform us that we got denied because of overdue check up. Conflicting info. Then they said you have to come back for an actual appointment. I said I won’t be coming back. They lost my business. Front office to customer Communication is not good and hurting your business.

We've brought our furbabies here for years and always receive amazing service at Longwood! Dr. McBride saved our dog's life by diagnosing her with EPI. They offer a Paw Plan that is a great way to manage costs too.

They always are compassionate and prompt to take care of our dogs needs when we had to put our dog Jack, down after bone cancer.. we went ahead and had leg amputated, and he lived eight months longer than he could have. I really feel comfortable with Longwood animal clinic with my fur babies needs.
