How to Save Money at West Lynn Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
We walked into this veterinarian and asked her to kindly refill a prescription we had from our vet in Miami... we had lost the last 3 doses out of 10 total. We were afraid we wouldn't be able to get it, being tomorrow the first of the year.. She tried to lure us into a whole visit setup instead. Fortunately, we went to hollywood feed pet store on Burnet Road and they gave it to us in 5 minutes (picture attached). West Lynn Vet Clinic obviously cared more about $ than our pet.

The absolute best Vet clinic I used in my over 15 years of owning my beagle Rowdy. I found them when I was living nearby for a few years, and the care and treatment we received was unmatched. So much so that even after I moved away from the area I ended up coming back because I couldn’t find the same level anywhere else. I recommend them to all of my pet owning friends.

We had a great new patient appointment! The front desk staff were very welcoming. Someone’s dog peed in the waiting area from nerves, and the staff came out and cleaned it up/gave a towel to the owner who was peed on and were very kind about it, as you’d hope for. Our vet tech, Mayra, was very friendly and conversational, and Dr. Whitworth was patient and took the time to answer all my questions about various vaccines, future preventative care, etc. she also administered the vaccines in front of me, which was nice. At my old vet, they’d take my dog to a back area for 15-25 mins for a little shot. This seems much less stressful on the animals. I was a little nervous after reading some people’s reviews about the appointment confirmation set-up, but it’s really straightforward. When you pay the initial deposit, the invoice notes that you will still need to confirm your appointment in order to keep it & the fees for cancellation/missing last minute are explained clearly. Nothing unusual - same practice I’d expect at any spa or salon. 1 or 2 days before the appointment, I got an email very clearly asking me to confirm the appointment by clicking a link or to call if I needed to reschedule. The link took me to a page acknowledging my confirmation was successful. Again, same practice as most places I make appointments at.

This clinic is it! Do not look further. I took my dog here for 8 years and never once had a bad experience or questioned the care she was getting. What has stood out to me even more, is what has happened since my dog's passing. Unfortunately we had to put her down elsewhere as it was very sudden, but we still received a handwritten card with sentiments from all the staff, AS WELL as a tree being planted in her honor from the clinic. We are blown away that they went above and beyond to honor our dog in that way. We are so appreciative of how compassionate they were to her during her life as well. Whenever we came to clinic and she was anxious and unpredictable, every member of the staff was understanding, never judgmental, and everything went smoothly. Again cannot recommend West Lynn Vet enough.

West Lynn is the best! The staff is friendly and amazing and truly care about the well being of your pets. Dr. Crawford was particularly fantastic when I had to put my old cat Crackers down. I can't say enough positive things about this place. Thanks guys!
