How to Save Money at UrgentVet
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Initially I went in on Sun and saw Dr. Hunter and was not happy with the service. However early yesterday evening the tech called me back and asked me follow up questions about my kitten Skully. She recommended coming back in, Dr. Siekluki was ABSOLUTELY amazing, she listened to me, examined my kitten, give him SQ fluids, pain meds and sent UA home with meds. Today he is back to his adventurous self!!! Thank you so much. The techs are absolutely amazing as well, thank you for being so kind and listening to a kitten mamma who may have just been scared. This is little Skully worn out at the vet office.

We received excellent care and compassion during an urgent visit for our cat Bobbie, who needed sedation and stitches. Everyone was kind, communicative, and thorough. We appreciate especially being able to call ahead/reserve our place in line to cut down on wait time. Special thanks to Manny and Dr. Sieklucki! Highly recommend.

Good but needs improvement First let me say that the concept of urgent care for pets is needed and I’m glad it exists. My regular clinic referred me here after the vet I was supposed to see for my dog’s condition went home sick. They offered a next day appointment but it was urgent and she needed to be seen that day. I made an appointment online and was able to be seen right away. The staff treated my dog’s condition kindly and her condition is improving. The follow up and documentation I received was good. The areas that need improvement: My dog was given prednisone and the dosing instructions didn’t match the amount of pills on the prescription. The bottle said 14 pills. They gave me 16 but the instructions stated one pill twice a day for 7 days, then one pill once a day for 7 days, then one pill every other day until gone. So I should have had at least 21 pills but I have no idea how many days until gone means. They are closed so I had to call my regular vet who is working on correcting the prescription. That’s pretty careless and potentially life threatening for a pet. My estimate was provided after my dog received care, negating the estimate. The emails came through while I was waiting over an hour for discharge and meds. I was not informed that they were emailing me and I had to sign for treatment after her care. The tech and the vet did not introduce themselves so I wasn’t sure who was who. They did not have name tags and were dressed the same. These are careless mistakes due to low staffing indicative of private equity practices. Would I go back? Yes if I had to but no I know what to look out for. Again it’s important that my dog is getting better and got the treatment she needed.

Pup decided that Sunday was the day to start having back door issues. The most dramatic of puppies! I was able to check in online and came in right at opening. Miguel took the best care of him despite how anxious Malbec is around people. They walked through all the options for his issue and called back the next day to make sure he was ok. Second time here and will definitely come back if, God forbid, there is ever another emergency. Malbec rates the chairs a 100/10!

I visited twice this past week due to some ongoing concerns with out 4 month kitten following her spay surgery. Obviously no one wants to find themselves at the urgent care for their pet, but even given the circumstances, this was one of the best vet experiences we have ever had with one of our pets. The online check-in made it easy to be seen and we had a pretty seamless experience once we arrived. But most importantly, I wanted to acknowledge just how incredible the staff was. Jenna and Ireland helped us get checked in and took our kitten's stats while showing so much compassion and kindness to Piggy and myself. After the initial visit she wasn't showing any improvement so we had to bring her back the next night and the team was great at welcoming us back and getting all the information they needed to get her taken care of. Dr Cooper was so helpful throughout the entire experience. She walked me through all the possible issues that might be affecting our kitty and when we returned she was quick to move forward with treatment options. She listened to everything I had to say about our kitten's behavior and took time to answer any questions I had. Once kitty was home and healing they even followed up with a call the next day to check on her progress. I hope we don't find ourselves back at the vet anytime soon, but I know if we have any future emergencies we will be in great hands with the team here!
