How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Travis Country Veterinary Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

The staff here is very pleasant. From the minute I bring my dog in, they’re smiling and helpful. At our last appointment, my dog’s heartworm meds got restocked, his nails got trimmed, he got his shots, and they did a fecal exam in under 20 minutes. The desk staff and the vet herself communicate clearly and kindly. My dog can be aggressive in certain situations and they handle it with grace each time!

What a caring non-judgmental staff! Prices were very reasonable so that I’ll be able to afford the follow up care for my old cat. Dr. Eaton, Neal at the front desk, and Stephanie were professional offering caring support and helpful options and suggestions that were within my budget and reasonable to carry out. Neal, your sense of humor helped. Stephanie your listening skills are incredible. Thank you everyone

Jan 2026 - Dr Buys and all the team took good care of my Frankie Cat at her annual visit yesterday. I trust Travis Country Veterinary Hospital work All of my pets needs. They’re always compassionate and to the point. No one does it better. Recommend 10 outta 10. September 2022: This year my pup needed dental work. Dr Sam was great! He called and checked in with me just before and after the surgery. They even went the extra mile and clipped his nails AND checked his ears for me! They take such great care of my dog that I feel like I’m working with a trusted family member. Really the absolute BEST Vets office in ATX. The whole staff are amazing! 2021 review: We absolutely LOVE Doctor Buys and all the folks at Travis Country Vet! I’m so glad they were recommended to me when I adopted my sweet dog last year. I love the one on one attention and care they give my fur baby.

I’ve lived in the area for over 20 years but haven’t tried them until I saw their reviews. I truly wish I’ve been taking my fur-babies here all along. I appreciate their knowledge and engagement with my timid dog, and I really loved that they didn’t try to shove expensive elective treatments on my dog. I will continue to use them as long as I live in the area.
