Best vet clinic in Austin! I’ve only taken my pets to 4 vets my 30 years in Austin, and I realize there are a ton from which to choose. However, vets have changed over these 30 years. Many get bought out by corporate conglomerates like my last vet group that was bought out by VCA. Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital has grown for sure the 14 years we have gone there but they remain honest and caring and I trust them for boarding my very old basset hound, Walter, who was also recently diagnosed being riddled with cancer. At close to age 14, my vet at SSAH, who is part-time, has been here for us 100% and so compassionate in our care for this old dog. The dog seems to enjoy the things in life any ancient dog would enjoy so the vet is encouraging us to love him each day he is still with us. She has been his vet since he was a puppy, & when he had an earlier cancer diagnosis at age 8 that was quite dire. He was attended to by a specialist for his chemo treatments but Dr Terry Wagner has always been there for Walter. Dr Bates saw Walter when we got the glaucoma diagnosis a few years ago. She is also wonderful. Another specialist in town did the surgery on that and medicine follow-up but we only go to SSAH at this point and they are all great. The staff are all so caring, from Megan up front to Leo in the back, and countless others. I have a hard time keeping up with names. Walter is a tough & beautiful boy but he’s gotten very difficult in his old age & this staff is remarkable in dealing with him. Thank you to SSAH!

Overall I had a good experience here, my dog was sick with something I never heard of and they were able to diagnose and take care of her quickly. Dr. Tinanoff was very involved and kept me updated throughout the day and continued to follow up after I took my dog home. Although unexpected vet visits are always costly, I don’t feel like I was price gouged here. Glad this unpleasant situation brought me to this clinic because I didn’t have a vet I really trusted in the area until now. Thanks everyone at SSAH!

Can’t say enough good things about Dr. Benaryeh and the staff at Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital! My cat is 16 years old, and had a laparoscopic intestinal biopsy yesterday— he’s already eating, begging, and trying to run around too much! I was very worried about traditional surgery for him, so I contacted Spicewood Springs, and not only did the office get back to me immediately, “Dr. B” emailed me and answered my questions about laparoscopy. He contacted my cat’s vet to discuss the case, and even moved his schedule around to personally do the procedure ASAP! I was so impressed when he called me before AND after the procedure to answer my questions and tell me how my cat was doing. The staff are really kind and you can tell they genuinely care about all the clients. Even the 16 yr old “tough customers” like my cat, Razor. Thanks again, yall! 🩷🐾

The entire staff was very compassionate and caring toward me and my 13 year of dog. The doctor spent a lot of time asking questions as well as thoroughly examining her physically. Additionally , they followed up with a phone call the next day to see how she was doing. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a personal touch in vet care.
